Nancy J. Sweisberger, 61 of Sioux City passed away Friday January 13, 2012 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 2 P.M. Monday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City with Pastor Chace Gordon of Corner Stone Church officiating. Visitation with the family will be from noon until service time Monday at the funeral home. Nancy was born October 29, 1950 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of James and Jeanne (Turcott) Solberg. She grew up in a military family and had lived in many different areas. The family moved to this area when she was a teenager. She married Steven R. Sweisberger March 17, 1971 in South Sioux City. She was formerly employed as a nurse’s aide. She loved to crochet and do glass and mirror etching. She loved her family. She was a stubborn person but had a big heart and would help anyone. She collected Santa Clauses and Christmas was her favorite time of the year. Survivors include her husband for forty years, Steve, two sons: Arthur and Robert and his wife Jacki all of Sioux City, two daughters: Stephanie and her husband Steve Gatzemeyer of South Sioux City, Blanch Bateman of Sioux City, two brothers: Duke and James Solberg both of Brainerd, Minnesota, a sister Tina and her husband Dan Meyer of Big Lake, Minnesota, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
