Thomas R. White, 54 of South Sioux City passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City with the Rev. James de Anda officiating. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Thursday with a scriptural wake at 7:00 P.M. at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Tom was born July 1, 1957 in Sioux City the son of Harold and Greta (Brothers) White. Tom attended St. Michael grade school and South Sioux City High School. Tom loved animals and had a variety of pets as a child. Tom was a talented photographer and enjoyed music. He played the guitar and the drums. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker Fan as well as a Green Bay Packers Fan. Tom spent a lot of time listening to music and reading books. He had a great sense of humor and was always ready to tell a joke. He loved to laugh and tease. Tom developed a close friendship the delivery staff from Jerry’s Pizza as he ordered nearly every Saturday night for the past twenty years. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Karen and her husband Dan Twohig of South Sioux City, nieces Theresa (Matt) Tibbels of Lincoln, NE, Mary Ellen (Dan) Mohr of Aberdeen, SD, Beth (Craig)Posson of Dakota Dunes, SD, Terry (David) Williams, Nicole White and Chuck (Betty) White all of Sioux City and Eileen Twohig of South Sioux City, great nieces and nephews: Ben and Aaron Tibbels, Chris and Caitlin Williams, Amanda, Nick and Thomas Mohr, Ashton White and Jake Possson. Tom is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: George and Rose (Kayl) White, maternal grandparents Charles and Mary Ellen (Rager) Brothers his parents: Harold and Greta White and a brother: Craig White.
