Nellie E. (Zeisler) Geary, 88 of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at a Sioux City Care Center. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Jackson, NE with the Rev. Paul Albenesius officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, with a scriptural wake service at 7:00 P.M. at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.. Nellie was born February 6, 1924 in Jackson, NE, the daughter of Walter and Ida (Reed) Mackey. She married Everett Zeisler on March 3, 1943 in Jackson, NE. Everett passed away on January 10, 1980. She then married Bernard J. Geary on August 10, 1984 in Jackson, NE. She was employed as a cook and dietary superintendent at Green Acres Nursing Home. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Survivors include her husband: Bernard of Sioux City, two sons and their wives: Robert and Rita Zeisler of South Sioux City and Donald and Kathy Zeisler of Omaha, NE, three daughters: Betty and her husband Gary Hoffman of Chadron, NE, Arlene Hollander of Sioux City and Ruth (Tootie) and her husband Nile Harris of Milford,IA, a brother: Louis Mackey of Modesto, CA, two sisters: Agnes Harris of South Sioux City and Mary and her husband Bob Jorgenson of Columbia Falls, MT, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Everett, a son: James Zeisler, six brothers: Maurice, Frank, Ray, Albert, Lawrence and Harry Mackey and three sisters: Hazel Tjaden, Ida Healy and Ruth Miller. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Mike Zeisler, Josh Harris, Jason Harris, Russ Zeisler, Chuck Hoffman, Craig Hoffman and Jim Hoffman.
