Eldon H. Tucker, 82 of South Sioux City passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at a South Sioux City Care Center. Memorial services will be 7 P.M. Tuesday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Niles officiating. Visitation with the family be begin a 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Final disposition of the cremated remains will be in California. Eldon was born February 21, 1930 in Grant Township, Iowa the son of Elmer J. and Hannah M. (Mammen) Tucker. He served in the U.S. Air Force from March 19, 1947 and was honorably discharged March 18, 1949. He was employed at Sioux City Bottling Company from 1949 until 1955. He then moved to California and was employed at Coke Cola Bottling Company in Los Angeles from 1955 until 1978 when he returned to Dakota City. He then installed and serviced pop machines until his retirement. He was married to Phyllis Berg. She died in 1972. He was a member of the South Sioux City Eagles. Survivors include three sons: Arnold, Danny and David all of California, two daughter: Tammie Evans of California and Deonna Smith of Texas, a brother Merlin Tucker of Sioux City, two sisters: Margaret Nelly and Marcy Estochen both of Sioux City, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis, his best friend and companion Tootie McCullough, a brother Arnold and a sister Elnora
