Richard L. “Dick” Krumwiede, 83 of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away Saturday June 2, 2012 at a South Sioux City Care Center. Memorial Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Gilbreath officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Richard was born April 20, 1929, in Dakota City the son of Henry and Anna M. (Bassett) Krumwiede. He served in the U.S. Navy from June 22, 1951until his honorable discharge June 28, 1953. He was a retired insurance agent. He married Charlotte V. Van Cleave July 21, 1963 in South Sioux City. She died March 30, 2004 in Sioux City. He was a member of the Dakota City United Methodist Church, Abu Bekr Shrine and Omadi #5 Masonic Lodge. Survivors include a son Patrick L. Krumwiede of South Sioux City, step-son Thomas B. Carner of Portland, Oregon, two brothers: Robert Krumwiede of Dakota Dunes, Gene Krumwiede of South Sioux City, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte, a son Mike, two daughters and a stepdaughter Barbara Wiscott.
