David G. Patrick, 70 of South Sioux City passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at his residence following a brief illness. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday July 6, at Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Randall B. Knuth officiating. Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 12, 2012 in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 5 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Hope Lutheran Church. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. David was born July 16, 1941 in West Plains, Missouri the son of Tony and Lucille P. (Goss) Patrick. He owned and operated his own construction company in South Sioux City. He married Shirley A. Chester on July 13, 1958 in Sioux City. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church where he was a trustee, a mentor for confirmation classes and helped with Vacation Bible School. He coached Little League in South Sioux City. He enjoyed playing golf and having coffee with the boys. His family will always remember him for his unconditional love. Survivors include his wife: Shirley of South Sioux City, three sons: Lynn and his wife Marla of South Sioux City, Kelvin of Smithland, Iowa, Brad and his wife Penny of Dakota City, a daughter Teresa and her husband Harry Beatty of South Sioux City, a brother Douglas and his wife Shirley Patrick of Sioux City, a sister Kathy Coyle of Sioux City, nine grandchildren: Matthew, Ryan and Seth Patrick, Matthew, Nathan and his wife Kelli, Justin and Zach Beatty, Devin and Jon Patrick, two great grandchildren: Mason and Shayanne Beatty. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother William Magel, two sisters: Ruby and Lenora and a grandson Joshua David Patrick. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Devin Patrick, Dennis Bloch and Robert Billiar
