Vernace M. Hueschen

Vernace M. Hueschen, 93 of Topeka, Kansas formerly of South Sioux City and Dakota City passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at Midland Campus Residential Center in Topeka, Kansas. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Randall Knuth officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Vernace was born January 24, 1919 in Creston, Nebraska the daughter of William and Vernie (Wetgen) Goering. She married Wilbert H. “Web” Hueschen on March 12, 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church in Platte Center, Nebraska. The couple farmed in Platte Center, Nebraska before moving to South Sioux City in 1967. They owned and operated Dairy Dandy in South Sioux City. The couple wintered in Texas. She also lived in Dakota City until moving to Lyndon, Kansas in 2005 to be near her daughter. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She loved to dance and golf. She enjoyed word search puzzles, crocheting and sharing time with her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons and their wives: Barry and Diane Hueschen of Akron, IA and Kirby and Joann Hueschen of Dakota City, NE, a daughter: Ila Janssen of Lynden, KS, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Delores Germann. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Wilbert on July 14, 1997 in Omaha, NE, a brother Virgil Goering, and a great great grandson: Cedric Hueschen. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marty Hueschen, Lyle Janssen and Lukis Janssen. Casket Bearers will be her grandsons:, Jason, Chad, Jamie and Eric Hueschen, Dylan Reece and Derrick Reece.
