Elizabeth F. "Bette" Morrison

Elizabeth F. “Bette” Morrison, 91 of South Sioux City passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at a South Sioux City Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City with Father Anthony Espinosa celebrant. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Visitation at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home will be 4 to 8 P.M. Monday with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 P.M. Bette was born December 11, 1920 in Los Angeles, California the daughter of Jack A. and Maureen (Nebergal) Hammer. She was a high school graduate. She married Billie Burdette “Bill” Morrison December 14, 1941 in Yuma, Arizona. The couple lived in California, Colorado and Illinois before moving to South Sioux City in 1994. Bette was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City, the Legion of Mary and the Carmelite Auxiliary. She was an artist, gourmet cook, enjoyed knitting and painting in oils. She loved her family and the animals. She enjoyed sending her family and friends special occasion cards. Survivors include three sons and their wives: J. Michael and Colette of South Sioux City, Jon and Shelly of Pasadena, California, Jeffrey W. and Maribeth of Grand Junction, Colorado, a sister Patricia Riggens of Camarillo, California, eight grandchildren: Eric, Greg, Kristen, Nicole, Danielle, Samuel, Seth and Logan, twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bill on July 28, 2000 in Sioux City. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations or memorials be directed to St. Michael Catholic Church.
