Lida M. Nieman, 84 of Homer, Nebraska passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 10:30A.M. Tuesday at Homer United Methodist Church in Homer, NE with the Rev. Joan Frenzel officiating. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery, rural Homer. Visitation will be from 4 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Lida was born September 18, 1928 in Walthill, NE the daughter of George and Elma (Nicolles) Quint. She graduated from South Sioux City High School. She married Elmer Nieman on June 1, 1947 in South Sioux City. She was employed as a supply clerk for the Winnebago Indian Health Services for thirty-one years. She also worked on the family farm with her husband for fifty years. She and her husband Elmer owned and operated Nieman Towing. She was a member of the Walthill Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband Elmer of Homer, NE, a brother: George Quint of South Sioux City, two sisters: Elva Nottleman and Carole Ann Baker both of South Sioux City, three grandchildren: Todd Walker, Autumn Nieman and Jeremiah Nieman, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son: Kenny Nieman, an infant brother: Gary Quint and three sisters: Evelyn Quint, Georgia Vakulskas and Dora Quint. Pallbearers will be Rod Nieman, Tom Nieman, Rod Quint, Royce Whitebear, Charles Aldrich and Darren Walker.
