Gary L. Blessing, 74 of Sioux City passed away Saturday March 30, 2013 at his residence. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 3, 2012 at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City with the Rev. Jerry Gilbreath officiating. Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday April 4, 2013 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Gary was born August 23, 1938 in South Sioux City, Ne the son of Raymond and Helen (Bobier) Blessing. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1956. He married Judy L. Wyant on September 20, 1958 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was employed as an engineer for Chicago-Northwestern Railroad for thirty-three years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. Survivors include his wife: Judy of Sioux City, four daughters: Chris and Brian Lake and Susie and Mike Adam all of Sioux City, Pam and John Scott of Owatonna, Minnesota and Danita Blessing and her companion Carmen Light of Urbandale, IA, a sister: Betty Hoelker of Chandler, Arizona, nine grandchildren: Jennifer and her husband Ronnie Rosenbaum, Brianne Lake and her fiancé Chad Cain, Alex Lake and his wife Sarah Lake, Adam Lake, Kenny and Charlie Adam, Grant and Taylor Scott and Trevor Blessing Light and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Lonnie and Kenny , a sister: Margie Raidy and a brother-in-law: Joe Hoelker. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Alex and Adam Lake, Kenny and Charlie Adam, Grant Scott and Trevor Blessing Light.
