Marlys H. Antrim, 91 of South Sioux City passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City with the Rev. Jerry Gilbreath officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8:00 P.M. Monday with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Marlys was born October 4, 1921 in South Sioux City the daughter of Henry and Elma (Benson) Barnes. She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1939. She married Marvin C. (Chet) Antrim on May 31, 1941 in South Sioux City. She was formerly employed at Sioux City Battery Company, Zenith Corporation, James Drug and was an assistant activity director at Green Acres Nursing Home in South Sioux City, now Regency Square Care Center. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. She was an Avon Representative and a Chicago Cubs Fan. She loved cats and going fishing in Minnesota. Survivors include her daughter: Carol Sue Antrim of South Sioux City, a brother: Floyd and his wife Marie Barnes of California, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin (Chet) October 28, 1977 in Sioux City, a son: Marvin Harold Antrim and a sister, Ruth Nichols. Pallbearers will be Michael, Scott and Steve Antrim, Shawn Diller, Rick Boone and Jeff Hartman.
