Paul A. Hughes

Paul A. Hughes, 49 of Dakota City, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 1 P.M. Wednesday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home. Following the service the body will be cremated and a family graveside service will be at a later date in Omaha Valley Cemetery, Homer, Nebraska. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday. Paul Adrian Hughes was born August 21, 1963 in Denver, Colorado the son of Phillip A. and Cherrill A. (Muller) Hughes. He received his high school education and attended college for two years. He married Connie S. Heffernan and to this union a daughter Hillary was born. Paul was an instructor for concealed guns and gun safety. He was a carrier for the Omaha World Herald. He was a member of N.R.A. and the Patrait Guard Riders. Survivors include his daughter Hillary Hughes and her fiancé Daniel Moreau both of Dakota City, his mother Cherrill Hughes of Westminster, Colorado, two brothers: Cork Hughes of Aurora, Colorado, Chris Hughes of Longmont, Colorado and his canine best friend “Dusty”. Honorary pallbearers will be Orville Hankins, Jr, Allyn Gonsor, Allyn Gonsor, Sr, Cork and Chris Hughes and Daniel Moreau. Paul was preceded in death by his father Phillip.
