Dorothy L. Beard

Dorothy L. Beard passed away on her 73rd birthday Sunday, June 9, 2013 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeffrey Ungs officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Dorothy was born June 9, 1940 in Coal Glenn, Pennsylvania the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Barraclough. She graduated from high school. She came to Sioux City in October of 1976. She married George T. Beard September 3, 1997 in South Sioux City. She was employed as a waitress retiring from the Carousel Restaurant. Survivors include two sons: Ronald and his wife Laurie Brumberg of Pennsylvania, David Kye and his companion Brian Braddock of Sioux City, a sister Mary Ann Fiddler of Pennsylvania, eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George on April 30, 2011 in Sioux City, and a son John Brumberg.
