Wayne J. Petrik

Wayne J. Petrik, 70, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday July 16, 2013, at a Sioux City Care Center. Visitation and sharing of memories will begin at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. American Legion Post 307 will offer a flag presentation and taps at 2:00 P.M. A family graveside service will be in Wagner, South Dakota. Wayne was born July 13, 1943, in Dante, South Dakota the son of James and Katherine (Engel) Petrik. He graduated from high school and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Lizzie Provost December 12, 1969 in Sioux City. She died October 15, 2001 in Yankton, South Dakota. He was employed with A&A Sand Company, Mark Albenesius and Larry Albenesius before retiring. He was a member of the American Legion Post 307 in South Sioux City. Survivors include a son Joseph of Sioux City, two daughters: Alison Petrik of South Sioux City, and Tracey Klassen of Sioux City, a brother Wesley of Sioux City and nine grandchildren.
