Marjorie "Marj" Jarvill

Marjorie “Marje” Jarvill, 85 of South Sioux City passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 1:30 P.M. Friday at Morningside Church Of Christ with the Rev. Matthew Wentz officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Marjorie was born December 8, 1927 in Wayne, Nebraska the daughter of Harry Ulysses and Lillie B. (Boyce) Swinney. She graduated from Wayne High School and attended Wayne State College for one year and graduated from the Methodist School of Nursing. She was employed at the Lutheran Hospital which is now Unity Point Health St. Lukes in the ICU and Burn Unit. She married Emery M. “Red” Jarvill on July 10, 1960 in Sioux City. He passed away on August 20, 1984 in Sioux City. She was a member of the Morningside Church of Christ, Daughters of the American Revolution and St. Lukes Nursing Auxillary. After retirement she volunteered at St. Lukes Hospital and the cancer center. She was an adamant blood donor. Survivors include her son and his wife Merle and Raquel Jarvill of Anthem, Arizona, two daughters: Dorothy Lewis of Beaumont, Texas and Karalee and her husband John Taylor of Columbus, Ohio, six grandchildren: Taylor and Michael Jarvill, Joseph and Ruth Taylor, Brad Gregg and J.T. Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband “Red”, four brothers: Alvin, Pat, Harry and Warren and one sister Margret Nassiff. Memorials may be directed in her name to St. Lukes College Of Nursing.
