Darrell Douglas Hunt, 69 of Sioux City and formerly of South Sioux City passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, November 9, 2013. There is a small service with the family at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Darrell was born October 12, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Darrell and Virginia (Clay) Hunt. He drove truck for most of his life. He enjoyed seeing the country. He also enjoyed being with his grandchildren, camping, fishing and was always working on several projects at one time. He had a special friend , sidekick and buddy which was his dog Kamots. He married Jess and had three children; Dawn, Virginia and Daniel. He then married Carolyn DeHaan on January 5, 1980 and had four daughters and one son: Shelly (Brian) Kampfe of South Sioux City, Kristi (Steve) Mead of Sioux City, Iowa, Bonnie (Jeff) Finken of Sioux City, IA, Jennifer Kudis of Minnesota and Michael (Marchael) Niebaum of Sioux City, Iowa. He then married Caroline Stewart on November 4, 1987, she had three children Tabitha Liscomb of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Adrian Welch of South Sioux City, Rebecca (Chris) Epps of Las Vegas, NV who became part of his family; He is survived by two sisters: Linda Mason and Marlene Bellis of Sioux City, Iowa, nine brothers: Gaylen, Edward, Carl (Michelle), Mike, Ronnie, Tim, Tom, Tracy (Theresa), Jeff Combs all of Sioux City, several nieces and nephews and best friends Frisbie and Poncho., several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather: LeVeral (Peck) Combs, a son Daniel Hunt, his second wife: Carolyn Hunt, a brother: Richard Hunt, two sisters: Carolyn and Lori and a nephew Timmy Combs.
