Dale Knudsen 88, of rural Dakota City passed away Wednesday November 20, 2013 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 1:30 P.M. Monday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with the Rev. Carol Jean Stapleton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to8 P.M. at the funeral home with the family present at 6 P.M. Dale was born March 10, 1925, In Jackson, Nebraska the son of Hans and Sine (Andersen) Knudsen. He graduated from high school and took a trade school welding course. He married Doris P. Bradish October 6, 1946 in South Sioux City. The couple celebrated their sixty-seventh wedding anniversary this last October. Dale was a lifelong resident of Dakota County and was a farmer until the age of eight-four. Survivors include his wife Doris, a son Wayne and his wife Darlene of Dakota City, a daughter Debra Knudsen of Dakota City, three grandchildren: Travis (Kori) Knudsen, Erik and Mark Knudsen. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Hans T. and Louis R. Knudsen and two sisters: Helen Knudsen and Edna Austin.
