George C. "Chuck" Anderson, JR

George C. “Chuck” Anderson 78 of South Sioux City passed away Wednesday January 8, 2014 at a Sioux city Hospital. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday at St .Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory Congote officiating. There will be a military flag presentation following the service at the church. A private family graveside burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 P.M. George was born April 18, 1941 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of George C. and Augusta E. (Semrau) Anderson. He graduated from high school and attended two years of college. He served in the U.S. Army from May 4, 1967 and was honorably discharged May 1, 1973. He was a longtime resident of South Sioux City and was employed at various jobs. He retired as a dealer from Winn-A-Vegas Casino. He enjoye4d bowling, golfing, hunting and playing his mermaid machine. Survivors include a sister Mary Beth Holmes of South Sioux City, two nieces: Michelle Holmes and Beth A. Elder, two nephews: Tim and Erik Holmes, one great nephew James Elder III and one great niece Kathleen Elder. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Judy C. Anderson.
