David Lowell Rahn, 56 of South Sioux City passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City with the Rev. Jerry Gilbreath officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 P.M. David was born December 1, 1957 in Sioux City the son of Lowell L. and Jo Ann C. (McCoy) Rahn. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1976 and attended Wayne State College for two years. He married Evelyn Doohen. He was employed as an iron worker with various companies. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City and Iron Worker Local 21 of Sioux City and an avid supporter of the union. He loved his Harley and liked to fish. He loved his family, was a good hearted man and never met a stranger. David is survived by two sons: Jon and his wife Gena Jager of Freemont, Nebraska, Les Rahn of South Sioux City, a brother Randy and his fiancée Diane Simon of Newcastle, WY, a sister Nancy Koskey and her fiancé Jim Cleveland of Vermillion, S.D., his mother Jo Ann Addison of South Sioux City, two grandchildren Dylan and Ty Jager, two nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his father. Pallbearers will be Rob Oberg, Damon Ott, Brent Stockton, Steve Luft, Brian Hirckert and Jeff Engel.
