Robert G. Collins, 86 of rural Dakota City passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Regency Square Care Center. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 9, 2014 at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Savage, pastor of the Dakota City United Methodist Church officiating, followed by military flag presentation at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 1:30 P.M. in Evergreen Cemetery, Walthill, Nebraska for Robert and his daughter Carol Collins who died September 16, 2013. Robert was born September 27, 1927 in Macy, Nebraska the son of Hazel Collins and Floyd Nottleman. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II. Robert married Helen A. Sanford. He was employed as a meat cutter and retired from Swift Packing Company. Survivors include a son Ron and his wife Rita Collins of Hubbard, Nebraska, a daughter Shirlee Gunn of Laurel, Nebraska, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and a sister Eunice Wilson of Dakota City. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen January 14, 1998 in Wayne, Nebraska, a son-in-law Jim Gunn, a bother Melvin Nottleman and a sister Lavone Zimmerman.
