Robert William Ibsgaard, 70 of Sioux City passed away Wednesday at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home.in South Sioux City. Graveside services will be 3:30 P.M. Monday in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mapleton, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Monday at the funeral home. Robert was born March 18, 1944 in Mapleton, Iowa the son of Anchor E. and Beulah M. (Slentz) Ibsgaard. He served in the U.S. Navy from March 3, 1962 until June 3, 1963. He was formerly employed as a diesel mechanic in Beto Junction Kansas and at the Road Runner Truck Stop in Arizona. He married Sandra Sue Fredrickson in 1968. She died March 8, 2013. Survivors include a son Robert Childers and his significant other Stefine Naveja of Sioux City, two daughters: Theresa Ibsgaard and her significant other Heather Mlejnek of Sioux City, Janelle and her husband Kent Fullen of Kansas, three sisters: Joan Fawyer of Whiting, Iowa, Betty Castle of Mapleton, Iowa, Deanna Hill of Minneapolis, Minnesota, nine grandchildren: Robert Childers, JR, Tayler Farley, Ryan Childers, Tianna Hamilton, Tasha Farley, Colton and Kaylyn Ibsgaard, Tyson Fullen and Alea Deal. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son David and a brother Dwaine. Pallbearers will be Bobby Childers, Theresa Ibsgaard, Bobby Childers, JR, Tianna Hamilton, John Vlahoulis and John Schrader.
