February 22, 1957 — June 23, 2014

Jeffrey Ray Davenport, 57 of South Sioux City passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at a Sioux City Hospital.           Memorial Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Jackson, Nebraska with the Rev. Paul Albenesius officiating. A family graveside service will be at a later date in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in South Sioux City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday at the church with a wake service at 7 P.M. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.           Jeffrey was born February 22, 1957 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Boyd Wilmer and Virginia “Ginger” (Parmelee) Davenport. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1975, and Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska in 1979 with a business degree and later a teacher degree.           While in high school he was involved in track, music and was awarded the John Phillip Sousa Award.           Jeff worked many years at Harold’s and became knowledgeable with camera and photography.           He was been a substitute teacher in Sioux City and South Sioux City for many years. He also coached track and cross country and was always at the sports events taking pictures. His hobby was photography, bike riding and he loved to walk and run.           He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Jackson, Nebraska.           He is survived by his mother, Ginger Davenport, his brothers: Dennis (Gini) of Sioux City, Mark (Jennifer) Davenport of Rockwall, TX, Tim (Elisa) Davenport of Sioux City, sisters: Linda (Charlie) Kennedy of Sioux City, Elaine (Don) Skrdlant of South Sioux City, a special nephew Charles Watkins and many nephews and nieces.
