Ronald M. "Butch" Martin

         Ronald Everett “Butch” Martin 64 of Arlington, Texas, formerly of the Sioux City area passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 in a Lincoln, Nebraska Hospital from injuries he had received in a truck accident in Texas in March of 2014.           Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City with the Rev. Stephen Niles officiating. Burial with military graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Tuesday.           Ronald was born December 14, 1949, in Sioux City the son of Dallas E. and Emma M. (Parrish) Martin. He graduated from East High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from October 8, 1968 until July 21, 1974.  After his discharge he was employed with U.P.S., Greyhound Bus Lines and at the time of his death he was employed with the Yellow Roadway Corporation.           He was an active member of the V.F.W. Post 8561 in Arlington, Texas.           He loved his Harleys and enjoyed many rides.           Survivors include two sons: Douglas and his wife Colette Martin of Merrill, Iowa, Brad Martin of Arlington, Texas, two daughters Dawn Martin of Sioux City, Tonya and her husband Steve Galles of Remsen, Iowa, his mother Emma Bagley of South Sioux City, a step brother Dennis Stranathan of  Moorhead, Iowa and four grandchildren: Kelsey and Bryton Martin, Aubra and Shay Galles.           He was preceded in death by his father Dallas and a sister Francis Smith.           Pallbearers will be Colette, Kelsey and Bryton Martin, Steve, Aubra and Shay Galles.
