Roger Earl Hackett, 67 of South Sioux City passed away from natural causes Sunday September 14, 2014 at his residence. At Roger’s request his body has been cremated and there will be a memorial celebration life service at a later date. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements. Roger was born August 2, 1947, in Sioux City the son of Walter Earl and Ruth Fern (Broyhill) Hackett. He graduated from high school and attended college for two years. He was a Navy Veteran during Vietnam. He formerly lived in Cherokee and Sioux City before moving to South Sioux City. Earl was a self-employed painter; best known for pin striping autos and doing murals. He had had various other types of employment in his live, but his passion was painting. Survivors include a son Kellen and his wife Kathy Hackett and their children: (grandchildren) Noah and Faith Hackett of Sioux Falls, SD, a daughter Alesha Hackett of Sioux Falls, SD, a brother and his wife Robert and Krista Hackett of North Sioux City, SD, a sister and her husband Suzanne and Max Lacugnato of North Sioux City, SD, several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
