Steve R. Schwarz

Steve R. Schwartz, 65, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at a Sioux City Hospital.           Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with Pastor Kelley Pedersen officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery in Pender, Nebraska. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.          Steve was born October 23, 1939 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Clarence L. and Clara M. (Hulsebusch) Schwarz. He graduated from high school and college.           He married Colleen Kroll. They later divorced.           He formerly lived in Homer, Nebraska and served on the Homer Volunteer Fire and Rescue before moving to South Sioux City. He was employed in maintenance at I.B.P./ Tyson Fresh Meats in Dakota City before retiring.           Survivors include three daughters: Heather Schwarz of Marshalltown, Iowa, Holly Hofmann and Jenifer Hernandez both of Paris, Illinois and fourteen grandchildren.           He was preceded in death by his parents.           Pallbearers will be: Joseph, Dennis, Joshua and Mike Kroll, Mike Fredrickson and Fredrick Hofmann.
