Elaine Ann Layton, 66 of South Sioux City, born blind at birth can now see the joys of heaven when she passed away of natural causes Tuesday November 18, 2014 at her residence. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Randal Knuth officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Elaine was born April 3, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was a lifelong resident of the Siouxland area. She was employed as an assembler at North Star until retiring in 2009. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She enjoyed the Senior Retirement and traveling with the group to various areas including, going to the malls, the animal shelter, where she could pet the animals, and going to the different parks. She enjoyed meeting new people and socializing with her friends. She was preceded in death by her foster parents, Opal and Bill Williams and her best friend Lowell Nelson. Survivors include: Betty, Cindy, Larry and Nancy.
