Helen L. Hesse

Helen L. Hesse 78 of Aurelia, Iowa formerly of South Sioux City died Monday December 8, 2014 at the Sunset Knoll Care Center in Aurelia.           Services will be ­­­­­­­­­­­­­10:30 A.M. Friday at the First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City with the Rev. Kelley Pedersen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Thursday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home.           Helen LaVern was born January 19, 1936 in Mapleton, Iowa the daughter of William J. and Doris C. (Hendrickson) Morgan. She graduated from high school and attended college for three years. She married Virgil M. Hesse February 26, 1956. He died August 25, 2009.           She formerly lived in Sioux City, Hubbard, Dakota City and South Sioux City. She moved to Alta, Iowa to live near her daughter and then to Aurelia, Iowa.           She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City.           `Survivors include a daughter and her husband: Terri and David Suhr of Alta, Iowa, a son Virgil, Jr  of Sioux City, three brothers: Walter Morgan of Castana, Iowa, Danny Morgan of Sioux City, Rex Morgan of Oto, Iowa, one sister: Doris Mauch of Soldier, Iowa, 9 grandchildren: Kelly Morgan, Ashley Bendickson, Caterina Saltzman, Kayla Wilson, Heather Yacevich, Megan Lenz, Jeremy Yacevich, Cory and Krysta Hesse and 6 great grandchildren: McKenzie and Noah Wilson, Aster Saltzman, Madden Morgan, Thomas Bendickson and Sydney Morgan.           She was preceded also in death by her parents, a daughter Kathy Jo, two sons: Ricky and Brian, four brothers: Leo, Jim, William and Larry Morgan, a sister Betty Suhr and a granddaughter Jennifer Hesse.
