Agnes M. Harris

Agnes M. “Aggie” Harris, 84 of South Sioux City passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at a Sioux City Hospital surrounded by her family.           Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church at South Sioux City with Rev. David Fulton and Rev. Paul Albenesius concelebrant officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Jackson, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City from 3:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Legion of Mary Rosary at 4 P.M. and a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 P.M.           Agnes Margaret Harris was born April 22, 1930 to Walter and Ida (Reed) Mackey. She grew up on a farm in rural Jackson, one of thirteen children. In her younger days she provided child care to many families, including the Bousquets and the Sullivans.           She married Eugene F. Harris March 31, 1957 at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City.           To this union are four children: William (Robin) Harris of South Sioux City, Jeanne Leander of Sioux City, Robert (Lisa Boehm) Harris of Le Mars, Iowa, Andrea Harvey (Chad Meyer) of South Sioux City, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Louis Mackey of Modesto, California, and a sister Mary Jorgenson of Columbia Falls, Montana.           She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene, July 12, 1996, six brothers: Harry, Frank, Ray, Laurence, Maurice and Albert, four sisters: Ida, Ruth, Nellie and Hazel and a son-in-law Paul Leander.           Pallbearers will be Christopher, Joseph and Robbie Harris, Shane Nichols, Marty Hemmingson and Gurji Randhawa.
