Phoniel A. Miller, 82 of South Sioux City died Sunday, May 3, 2015, at a South Sioux City care center Services will be 10 :30 A.M. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Skioux City with the Rev. David Fulton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the service at the cemetery the will be a lunch and a time of fellowship with the family at the Last Stop, 710 Dakota Avenue, “formerly Rookies”. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 P.M. Phoniel Agnes Evans was born April 19, 1933 in Emerson, Nebraska the daughter of Richard J. and Marie E. (Bottger) Evans. She graduated from South Sioux City High School. She married Eugene H. Miller November 16, 1957 in South Sioux City. She retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. She loved Husker Football and enjoyed taking walks with her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons and their wives: Mark and Susan Miller of Troy, Michigan, Scott and Jamie Miller of South Sioux City, a bother William and his wife Mary Evans of Sioux City, a sister and her husband Janice and Ronald Harder of Allen, Nebraska, five grandchildren: Tisha Powell, Michelle, Michael, John and Christine Miller and five great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene November 25, 1967, a brother Richard Evans and a sister Joan Schleisman.
