Alvin L. “Al” Mogensen, 73 of South Sioux City passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Pail United Methodist Church in South Sioux City with the Rev. Jose Miranda officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation at Becker – Hunt funeral Home will be Monday from 5 to 8 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. Al was born September 1, 1941 in Homer, Nebraska the son of Albert and Amanda (Eriksen) Mogensen. He graduated from Homer, Nebraska High School in 1959. He married Sharon “Sherry” R. Eby August 5, 1961, in the Rosalie United Methodist Church, Rosalie, Nebraska. He was employed in the service department of Chesterman’s for forty-two years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, making jewelry, Yankee baseball and following his grandkids in all their events. He was proud of his wife, two sons and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Sherry of fifty-three years, his two sons: Terry and his wife Susie of Sioux City, Jeff and his wife Carey of South Sioux City, six grandchildren: Brandon, Brooke, Matt, Mike, Meg and Max. Pallbearers will be his six grandchildren and Kevin Ott.
