L John Pearson, 81, of Homer passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at a care center in Sioux City, Iowa. Services will be at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Homer, Nebraska with Vicar Dave Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 5 P.M. until service time. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City is in charge of arrangements. John was born March 25, 1934 in Walthill, Nebraska to Nels and Olga (Peterson). He married Janet Fox on July 11, 1954 in Homer, Nebraska. John was an avid fisherman and had lots of fish fries around the area. He was also a sausage maker and processed lots of deer for people. John worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for thirty years. Survivors include; wife Janet, sons David (Roxann) McCook Lake, South Dakota, Daniel (Lorrie) Seward, Nebraska and daughters Diane (Kim) Rewinkel, Homer, Donna (Steve) Hirsch, Dakota City, Nebraska, Denise (Rob) Arrington, Homer, Nebraska and Dan (Barb) Kelly, Hawarden, Iowa. Also surviving are his sisters Mary Ann Schmiedeskamp, Hilda Pearson and Donna (Eli) Berger, and sister-in-law Clara Marie Maurice. He has eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debbie, siblings Alice (Eddie) Copple, Betty (Jerry) Stanek, Dorothy Macklin, Elmer (Irene) Pearson and Orville (Evelyn) Pearson. Also preceding were brothers-in-law Leighton Maurice, Dick (Carol) Fox, Bill (Lorraine) Fox.
