Helen L. Probst, 91 of South Sioux City passed away Thursday June 4, 2015 at a South Sioux City care center. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at St .Michael Catholic Church with Rev. David Fulton officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in South Sioux City. Visitation will be Monday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home beginning at 4:00 P.M. with a rosary by the Catholic Daughters of America and the Legion of Mary followed by a Scriptural Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. Helen was born November 2, 1923 in Homer, Nebraska the daughter of Charles and Josephine (Penry) Hoch. She graduated from Winnebago, Nebraska High School. She married Orville M. Probst January 10, 1944 in Homer, Nebraska. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and very active in the Legion of Mary. She was one of the founders of Perpetual Adoration at St. Michael’s and was Woman of the Diocese one year. Survivors include three sons: Jerry and his wife Carolyn Probst of Sioux City, Joe Probst of South Sioux City, Mike and his wife Chris of Sioux City, two daughters and their husbands: Marie (Randy) Geeting of Nemo, S.D, Mary (David) Fox of Monument, Colorado, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Marcie Rich, Charles Probst, Katherine Green, Megan Probst, Zachary Probst, Nykki Brockhouse, Dylan Probst and Ryan Probst. She was also preceded by her parent, her husband Orville, May 10, 1987 in Omaha and two brothers: Daniel and Neal Hoch.
