Donald H. Albertson, 84 of South Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly Saturday at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Charles Horkey officiating. There will be a lunch with the family immediately following the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Salix, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Donald was born August 1, 1931, in Walthill, Nebraska the son of Lawrence “Cap” and Wilma O. (Benner) Albertson. He attended school in Walthill, Nebraska. He married Lois A. Dunn June 20, 1970 in Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City. He was employed as a truck driver for Crouse Cartage Trucking for thirty-five years. Donald was a member of Teamsters Local # 554. He retired in 1985. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting and following local sports. He was a traveler and he and Lois wintered in Arizona. Survivors include his wife Lois, sons: Donald P. and his wife DiAnn Albertson of Homer, NE, Rock Albertson and his companion Alesia of Woodland Park, CO, Joe Keefer, daughters: Candace and her husband Clarence Phipps of Onawa, Iowa, Kim and her husband Brian McKee of Akron, Iowa, brother: Gerald (Sue) Albertson of Sioux City, grandchildren: Ann (Scott) Hawkins, Beau (Nikki) Albertson, Cody (Susie) Albertson, Chandra (Andy) Dicus and his fishing buddies: Steve Shadle and Scott Merchant.
