Austin John Kotz

Austin John Kotz 74 of Dakota City passed away Wednesday December 2, 2015 at a Sioux City Hospital.           Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.           Austin was born February 27, 1941 in Presho, SD the son of Al and Mable (Knudtson) Kotz. He graduated from high school and attended two years of college. He married Viana Gallant. They later divorced.           He was a musician and manager of his own band. He also played in various other bands.           Survivors include his companion of thirty years Bonnie Gaskill, his children: Austin, Jr (Winoa) Kotz of Isanti, MINN, John Kotz of Sioux City, Travis (Josephine) Kotz of Sioux City, Jason Kotz of Dakota City, Shirley (Scott) Miller of Lincoln, NE, Brenda (Tom) Lelander of Sioux city, three brothers Jerry, Steve and Jim, a sister Mary Kotz of Aberdeen, SD, 13 grandchildren: Dustin Miller, Patrick Miller, Austin Kotz III, Josie Young, Dian Kotz, Travis Kotz, Bentley Kotz, Willis Kotz, Jude Kotz Davion Kotz, Matthew Leander, Marcus Leander and Thomas Leander and 9 great grandchildren.           Pallbearers will be Austin, Travis, Jason, Thomas, Marcus and Matt.
