Ruth Greer

Ruth Greer, 77 of Sioux City passed away Friday December 25, 2015 at her residence.           Visitation will be Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home beginning at 3 P.M. with the family present at 5 P.M. for a time of sharing with family and friends until 7P.M. Abiding with Ruth’s wishes, cremation has taken place.           Ruth was born February 20, 1938 in South Sioux City the daughter of Alvin B. and Josephine (Malbrue) Hayes. She grew up is South Sioux City and graduated from South Sioux City High School. She married Wardell Greer. To this union five children were born: Lonny, James, Yvette, Patrick, and Marceile.           Ruth retired from Sunrise Manor Care Center.           Survivors include two sons: Lonny and his wife Alethea Greer of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Patrick Greer of Sioux City, Yvette and her husband David Albrecht of Redfield, S.D., Marceile and her husband Randy Laird of Sioux City, a brother Dale and his wife Deb Hayes of Lincoln, NE, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.           She was preceded in death by her parents, a son James, three brothers: Alvin, John and Frank, three sisters: Geraldine, Margaret and Irene and one grandchild.
