Lola J. Johnson

July 28, 1936 — January 4, 2016

Lola J. (Berger) Johnson, 79 of North Sioux City went to her heavenly home Monday, January 4, 2016 at a Sioux City Hospital.           Services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the Dakota City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gina Gile officiating. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to service at the church. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.           Lola was born July 28, 1936 in Homer, Nebraska the daughter of George E. and Doris L(Harris) Berger. She grew up in rural Dakota County and attended Hileman District 13 School. She graduated from Dakota City High School with the Class of 1954. She married Leonard H. Johnson August 2, 1957 in Dakota City. To this union three children were born: Robin, David and Eric.           They lived in various places due to Leonard’s Air Force Career.           She was a member of the Dakota City United Methodist Church, the Siouxland Doll Club and VICC Chair of the Republican Party in South Dakota.           Survivors include her children, Robin (Craig) Kesler of Winter Springs, Florida, David (Sara) Johnson of Leesburg, Florida, and Eric (Lana) Johnson of Escondido, California, grandchildren Miranda (Chris) Bender, Michelle La Londe, Seth Johnson, step-grandchildren, Keysla, Jose, Gabrielle and Isabella Silva, great grandchildren, Austen, Ian, Catherine and Anne Grace Bender and Alexandra, Silva-Gonzalez, three sisters, Bonnie (Dennis) Ducommun of Cherokee, Iowa, Opal Berger of North Sioux City, South Dakota, Debra (Randy) Stortvedt of Bellevue, Nebraska, two Brothers, William (Robin) Berger of Ocala, Florida, and Ronald Berger of Sioux City, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.           She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard June 30, 1988 in Sioux City, and a sister and her husband Judith and Douglas Smith
