Wayne A. Chamberlain, 87 of Sioux City died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Dakota City United Methodist Church with Rev. Gina Gile officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday with a Prayer Service at 7 P.M. Wayne Alvin Chamberlain was born March 5, 1929, in Mission Hills, South Dakota the son of Clarence and Alma (Falstad) Swensen. He married Dorothy Mae Strong September 3, 1949 in Stranberg, South Dakota. He was twenty-three when he was employed as a Hydronic Engineer at Younkers. He retired after being with the company for thirty-two years. He was a member of the Dakota City United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Dorothy of sixty-six years, a daughter Debbra Schultz, a daughter-in-law Jeanne Chamberlain, grandchildren: Chad Ferris, Cindy Ferris, Ryan Chamberlain, Rustin Chamberlain, Rachel Chamberlain, Randy Chamberlain, three great grandchildren: Emily Christiansen, Abigail Christiansen, Madelyn Ferris and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Randall Chamberlain and Rodney Chamberlain, three brothers: Walter Chamberlain, Ardell Chamberlain and Ivan Chamberlain, Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
