Dorothy L. Barrs

Dorothy L. Barrs 93 of South City passed away Monday March 21, 2016 at a South Sioux City Care Center           A sharing time with the family will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery.           Dorothy was born August 14, 1922 in South Sioux City the daughter of Leo G. and Gertrude (Clark) Stowers. She graduated from South Sioux City High School. She married Ralph B. Barrs May 21, 1946 in Sioux City.           Dorothy was employed as a cafeteria hostess for twenty-five years at I.B.P.           Survivors include two daughters: Linda and her husband Frank Schovanec of Dakota City, Cindy Arndt of South Sioux City, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.           She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph May 21, 1988 in Sioux City, a son Ralph James Barrs, three daughters: Nancy Benson, Diane Kruse, Patricia Williamson and a grandson, Adam James Barrs.
