         Dorothy F. Andersen, 90, of Hubbard, Nebraska died June 22 , 2016 at the Lighthouse at Lakeside Village in Omaha, Nebraska.       Services will be held at 10:30a.m., Monday, June 27th, at Salem Lutheran Church in rural Dakota City, Nebraska with Pastor Karen Tjarks officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30a.m. the same day.  Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery, rural Dakota City, Nebraska. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City is in charge of the arrangements.      A second remembrance service will be held at 3:15p.m., Tuesday, June 28th, at the Lighthouse at Lakeside Village in Omaha, Nebraska.       Dorothy was born August 27, 1925 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore (Ted) and Frieda (Harrigfeld) Rohde of Emerson, Nebraska.  She graduated from Emerson High School in 1942.  Received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Morningside College in 1958 and a Master of Fine Arts degree from University of South Dakota in 1967.  Dorothy had a long and successful career teaching primarily vocal music at East Junior and D. A. Haworth Junior High Schools in Sioux City, Iowa.  She was also the Assistant Director Head of Vocal Music for Sioux City Public Schools for several years.      Dorothy's life was devoted to her family, education, and her community.  She tirelessly donated her time and many talents to serving her community thru several organizations.       She married Leo C. Andersen of Hubbard, Nebraska June 30, 1946.  They were able to celebrate 59 years of marriage until his death in 2005.    Survivors include her three children, Cheryl (Don) Morgan of Lucas, Texas,  Bryce (Luanne) Andersen of Dakota City, Nebraska,  Engra Lyn (Ron) Banse of Omaha, Nebraska;  seven grandchildren, Brian (Carmen) Morgan of Allen, Texas,  Kim (Vic) Harrison of Lucas, Texas,  Pete Andersen of Portland, Oregon,  Sarah (DJ) Kluver of Dakota City, Nebraska,  Will (Tanisha) Andersen of Dakota City, Nebraska,  Adam (Angie) Andersen of Ames, Iowa,  Emma Banse of Omaha, Nebraska; ten great-grandchildren;  brother Theodore (Bud) Rohde of Hot Springs, Arkansas, sister Marjorie Wyatt of San Jose, California, brother Robert Rohde of Omaha, Nebraska, sisters-in-law Evelyn Hughes of Sioux City, Iowa and Barbara Rohde of Aurora, Illinois; many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.      In lieu of flowers consider a donation in Dorothy's name to Salem Lutheran Church.      The family wishes to thank the staff at the Lighthouse at Lakeside Village and Alegent Creighton Health Hospice for their outstanding and compassionate care.
