Shannon Lynn Chrisman, 39 of South Sioux City passed away Sunday July 3, 2016 at a South Sioux City Care Center. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Salem Lutheran Church rural Dakota City with the Rev. Karen Tjarks officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 P.M. Shannon was born July 14, 1976 in Sioux City the daughter of James D. and Linda K. (Jones) Chrisman. She graduated from the South Sioux City High School in 1996. She was employed at Hy-Vee in South Sioux City and also participated in the South Sioux City Special Olympic activities. She was awarded the Special Olympics Hall of Fame award and the Nebraska Female Special Olympics Hall of Fame Award. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church. Survivors include her parents Jim and Linda of Dakota City, four aunts: Lynda (Jim) Alvarez of Omaha, NE, Shirley Maron of Omaha, NE, Bev (Dennis) Schaffer of San Antonio, TX, Diane (Jim) Moyle of Sioux City, an Uncle Dick Jones of Colorado Springs, CO, a special friend Gregg Rider and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Pallbearers will be Richard Jones, Tim and Alec Alvarez, Jeremy Knox, Dillan and Connor Vaughan.
