Klemett L. Belt, SR 99 of Emerson, Nebraska, formerly of South Sioux City passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the care center in Emerson. Graveside services with military flag presentation will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 12, 2016 in Evergreen Cemetery, Walthill, Nebraska with the Rev. Ricky Jacobs officiating. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City is in charge of the arrangements. Klemett Levern Belt was born April 12, 1917 in Walthill, Nebraska the son of Franklin E. and Linnie A. (Shoop) Belt. He graduated from Homer, Nebraska High School in 1935. He farmed north of Homer and worked for Shrader Service Station also in Homer. He moved to California in 1941 and was employed at McDonald Douglas. He was an Army Veteran of W.W. II. After his discharge from the service, he returned to McDonald Douglas for employment. He retired and moved to Arizona in 1979. He returned to Nebraska in 2007. He was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Homer and the Elks Club in Van Nuys, California. He is survived by a daughter Melinda L. and her husband David Sandoz of Las Vegas, Nevada, three grandchildren four great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Klemett Lemoine Belt, a brother Donald Belt, a sister Eleanor Macklem and a special friend Frieda Peters.
