Beverly Ann Nielsen

   Beverly Ann Nielsen, 85, of Homer, Nebraska, died Wednesday November 2, 2016 at a South Sioux City Care Center.     A visitation will be from 6 to 7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. on Sunday and a funeral service at 10:30 A.M. with a dinner following on Monday all at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Homer, Nebraska. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.     Beverly was born October 27, 1931, the eldest and only daughter of Art and Grace Morgan. She graduated from Homer in 1949, taught country school then worked at Dakota County Court House where she met her husband. She married Marvin Guy Nielsen on February 28, 1955. They had two daughters, Gaylene Faye and Lanice Kaye. She was a homemaker then returned to work and retired from Homer, School.     She was active and involved in the church and community serving on altar/communion and as treasurer of both the Homer Alumni and Homer Legion Auxiliary for decades, was a Girl Scout leader, soloist and choir member.    She loved the students of Homer and followed them after they transitioned to Alumni. She loved all things Homer.     She is survived by her daughters, Gaylene Kunzie and Lanice Nielsen, a granddaughter Emma and Dan Caskey, a grandson Zeb Kunzie and great grandchildren Axton, Archer, and Avan Caskey, a brother Bill and Sandy Morgan and sisters-in-law Sharon Morgan and Faye and Ron Sailors and many nieces and nephews.     She was preceded in death by her beloved Marvin, her parents, her brothers Russell, Dennis, and Vernon “Mick” Morgan and a grandson Jacob Kunzie.     Memorial contributions (in lieu of flowers) may be directed for future designation to Homer organizations.
