Gabriele T. Mahaney-Urbanec

        Gabriele Mahaney-Urbanec 86 of South Sioux City passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at a Sioux City Care Center.           Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home with the Rev. David Fulton officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Walthill, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.           Gabriele Theresa was born December 18, 1926 the daughter of Franz and Johanna Ehret in Heidelberg, Germany.           Gabriele was formerly employed as a cook at the Senior Center in Walthill, Nebraska and at the Crystal Café in South Sioux City. She also worked at Walmart in South Sioux City.           She married Thomas Mahaney, Jr. and later married Ernest Urbanec. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.           Survivors include two sons: John Mahaney of Dakota City, Jim and his wife Donna Mahaney of Akron, Iowa, two daughters: Debbie and her husband Jack Dillon of South Sioux City and Michele and her husband Keith Wood of Hawarden, Iowa, eight grandchildren and great grandchildren.           She was preceded in death by her husbands, her brothers and sisters.           Pallbearers will be John Mahaney, Keith Wood, Travis Paulson, Tim Dillon, Matt Dillon and Jim Mahaney.
