William L Schroeder

William "Bill" Lee Schroeder Sr., 77, of Allen, passed away on Nov. 27, 2016, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness, with his family present. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery, Allen, with military rites Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. He was born on June 6, 1939. He grew up in Allen and attended the First Lutheran Church. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army. He had two main careers. He was a truck driver for many years and owned a body shop in Sioux City. He was married twice and had three children. He enjoyed motorcycling and playing pool. He was much loved and the life of the party. He is survived by one son, Kevin Schroeder of Palm Springs, Calif.; a daughter, Laura Schroeder of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Chris Hyso, Amanda, Casandra, Lucas, and Taylor Schroeder; and three grandsons. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Joyce and Clarence Schroeder; an infant brother, Richard; a brother, Roger Schroeder; and his son, William Lee Schroeder Jr.
