Edward N. “Ed” Leffler, 78 of South Sioux City went to meet his Savior Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Awe officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday (today) with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at the church. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ed was born April 14, 1938 in Sioux City the son of Edward G. and Bertha (Cash) Leffler. He married Clarrene A. Etchison April 10, 1964 in Ponca, Nebraska. He retired from John Morell Packing Company. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Ed enjoyed horse shoe, fishing, hunting and playing pinochle with Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Chester for fifty years. Ed supported and rooted for both the Huskers and the Vikings. Survivors include his wife Clarrene, two daughters: Mellissa and her husband Robbie Reed of South Sioux City, Mago Sessions of Sioux City, two sisters: Evelyn (Richard) Wilen of Sioux City, Norma (Dennis) Eisenhower of Sioux City, eighteen grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Tina, a brother John Leffler, and three sisters: Arlene Hard, Jeanette Manker and Linda Miller. Pallbearers will be: Matthew Murphy, Michael Wilen, Jake Anderson, Steven Chester, Gary Reuter and Richard Wilen. Danny Linduski will be and honorary pallbearer.
