Marilyn A. Hattig, 79 of South Sioux City passed away peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, December 29, 2016 at her residence. Services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Awe officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Following the service at the cemetery there will be a light lunch and time of sharing at the church. Visitation will be Tuesday at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home from 4 to 8 P.M. with the family present at 6 P.M. Marilyn was born May 31, 1937 in Pilger, Nebraska the daughter of Gilbert H. and Anne (Muhe) Watson. She graduated from South Sioux City Nebraska High School.. She married Arnold R. Hattig March 4, 1957 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Marilyn was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She loved caring for and being with her family. Marilyn is survived by two daughters: Kathryn Ball of South Sioux City, Kimberly and her husband Greg Cross of Des Moines, Iowa, two brothers: Lawrence and his wife Mary Watson and Donnie Watson all of South Sioux City, four grandchildren: Chad Ball (the grandson she raised) and his fiancée Jody Blackwell, Zachary Ball, Benjamin and his wife Tiffany Cross and Britta Cross. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold January 30, 1993, four brothers: Stan, Marion, Herb and an infant Marvin, and an infant sister Margaret Watson Pallbearers will be Benjamin Cross, Matt Watson, Shawn Watson, Charlie Roupe, Matthew Harbeck and Chad Whitmore.
