South Sioux City- Elizabeth Lynne Leitschuck (82) passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City    Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. , Monday, Jan.9, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City with the Rev. Stephen S. Niles officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery at Beatrice, NE. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the church with the family present from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Hunt Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to www.beckerhuntfuneralhome.com.    Elizabeth was born in rural Armour, NE on Feb. 3, 1934 to W Lin and Helen (Kerl) Doty. She attended a one room rural school for eight years and graduated in 1951 from Lewiston High School, attended summer sessions at UNL and taught two years in a one room rural school near Liberty, NE.    Elizabeth married Richard Leitschuck on April 19, 1953. To this union five children were born. Elizabeth worked at a Bank in Burchard, NE while Richard was in the Army in Korea. She was a stay at home Mom to her five children until the youngest was in the fourth grade. She then worked for 34 years at the South Sioux City High School as Attendance Secretary and Library Aide. Elizabeth was a member and a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City. She enjoyed music and sang in Church Choirs and was a member and treasurer of Choralation of Siouxland for many years. Elizabeth was the female lead in 1948 in her High School’s musical, “The Belle of Bagdad.” She also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.    Elizabeth enjoyed reading, playing games, her flower gardens, her cats and traveling with her family. She was a loving, devoted wife, Mother and Grandmother and being with her family was her life.    Elizabeth is survived by her husband, son David and daughter Nancy (Joe) Sloan of Lincoln, son John R (Cynthia) of Crestview , FL, son Tom (Julie) of South Sioux City and daughter Carol (Jim) Guffey of Ohope, New Zealand: grandchildren Luke (Kristina), Matthew (fiancee Brianna Shay), S Sgt Mary and John N of Crestview, FL; Rachel (fiancée Josh Dougherty), Minneapolis, MN, Cory of South Sioux City; Nicholas and Andrew Guffey, Ohope, New Zealand; step granddaughter Jennifer Reddell and step great granddaughter Zoey Huetson of Liberty Hill, TX and great granddaughters Ellianna and Kyla of Crestview, FL; brother-in-law Ron Leitschuck, Beatrice, NE and friend Betty Collins, Pawnee City, NE, sister-in-law Norma Speckman, Elk Creek, NE and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gaylord Doty, father and mother-in-law Glen and Nellie Leitschuck, sisters-in-law Elizabeth “Buffy”Doty, Judith Huntington and Carol Jean Leitschuck.    In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Siouxland
