Doris E. Georg, 94 of Sioux City formerly of South Sioux City passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at a Sioux City Hospital.           Services will be 11 A.M. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at Becker – Hunt Funeral Home Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. the family will be present at 6 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M.           Doris Elaine Georg was born November 5, 1922 in Jolley, Iowa the daughter of Arnold G. and Katherine A. (Nutter) Koeppen. She graduated from Jolley High School. On September 12, 1940, she married Carl H . Georg in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. The couple farmed in Jolley, Rockwell City and Holstein, Iowa. The couple moved to Jefferson, S.D. in 1971 where they were involved with horse racing. She was Horsemen’s Bookkeeper at Park Jefferson in South Dakota and Atokad Park in South Sioux City, Nebraska for twenty-five years. The couple moved to South Sioux City in1982.           Doris was a member of First Lutheran Church and helped with the tying of quilts for missions.           Survivors include two sons: Jay of Rockwell, Texas, John and his wife Terri of Holstein, Iowa, three daughters and their husbands: Sue and David Walsh of Clare, Iowa, Diane and Todd Sands of Sioux City, Carmen and Jerry Bish of Bloomfield, Iowa, eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, a brother Neil (Loretta) Koeppen of Rockwall City, Iowa.           She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl June 18, 2005, and four sisters: Phyllis Nelson, Blaine Cronk, Madge Hathaway and Kathryn Rastetter.
