Virgil D. Fowler, 76 of South Sioux City passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at a hospital in Wichita, Kansas from injuries received in a vehicle accident. Memorial services will be 11:00 Friday at Hope Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Awe officiating. There will be a lunch following the service. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Virgil was born July 22, 1940 in Sioux City the son of Merle F. and Letha (Owens) Fowler. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1958. He married Joice E. Budde March 18, 1959 in Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. He owned and operated Tri-View Heating and Cooling for thirty-five years. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Survivors include his son Terry and his wife Barbara Fowler of Sioux City, two daughters: Lisa Fowler and her husband Ken Isaacson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Amy Jensen and her husband Todd of Lincoln, Nebraska, seven grandchildren: Terry James Fowler, Holly Susanne (Fowler) White, Matthew Watters, Emily Jensen, Trevor Jensen, Eric Jensen, and Ryan Jensen, five great grandchildren: Addison White, Teagen White, Reece White, Logan Jensen and Cooper Jensen, two sisters: Irene “Judy” Miller of South Sioux City, and Helen “Pat” Milner of Brooklyn, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joice on April 17, 2005, and four brothers; Michael, Jerry, Marvin and Merle Fowler. Virgil enjoyed fishing, boating, tinkering in his garage on his vintage Farmall Tractor, and loved traveling in his RV.
