Phyllis Mae Lambrecht

August 9, 1926 — March 12, 2017

Dakota City, NE: Phyllis Mae Lambrecht, 90, of Dakota City Passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at a Sioux City Hospital.           Memorial services will be 10:00 A. M. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Dakota City United Methodist Church with Rev Carol Jean Stapleton. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Following the service at the cemetery there will be a lunch and gathering for family and friends at her son’s home, 1660 West 27th Street in Sioux City. Becker – Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.           Phyllis was born August 9, 1926, in Burt, Iowa the daughter of Allen G. and Ruth M. (Stoddard) Carr. She graduated from Bancroft, Iowa High School in 1943. After graduating from high school she served in the Nurses Army Cadet Corps from 1943 until 1945. While in the Corps, she took nurses training at the University of Minnesota and Blank Memorial Hospital in Des Moines. While she was at the Blank Hospital when Walt Disney painted a Disney Mural in the children’s ward.           After her time in the air-corps she married Robert O. Lambrecht January 29, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was employed at the Sioux City Battery and did baby-sitting in her home for several years.           She was a member of the Dakota City United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cross word puzzles, crocheting, puzzles, playing board and card games and reading She loved watching her children and grandchildren play softball.           Survivors include a son David and his wife Cheryl of Sioux City, four daughters: Ruth and her husband David Young of Pineville, MO, Roberta and her husband James Gallup of Dakota City, Susan Lambrecht and her wife Gloria Cortez of Smithville, MO, Patricia and her husband Logan Goodon of Phoenix, AZ, a brother Larry of Sun City, AZ,   two sisters: Bonnie Rote of Redfield, IA, Cindy Rote of Dextor, IA, nine grandchildren: Vicki, Michele, Marsha, Logan Jr, James Jr, Alexandria, Ashley, Angela and Anna, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.           Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Robert, December 7, 1992 in rural Dakota City, nine brothers: Robert, Jack, Max, Donnie, Hugh Warren, Allan, James and Marcus, and a sister Caroline Hatten of Anoka, MN.             The family suggests that you make a memorial donation in her name to the Food Panty or the Dakota City United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
